Victor's story

“I used to have five brothers, but now it’s just me. I am the only one who survived life on the streets…” Victor, aged 9

“I lived alone on the streets of Bogota. My parents left me so I just had to survive, looking through rubbish bins for food and sleeping under cardboard. I used to sniff glue. It stopped me feeling hungry and cold”.

This was how the Albergue found me. I don’t remember much of my first year at the refuge, but I know they helped me get over my glue addiction. Then I started going to school. Now I have a new family who love me.

But I miss my brothers. If only they had received the support I had, perhaps they would still be alive today.” Victor, aged 9

Please make a donation today so that we can help many more children like Victor rebuild their lives and enjoy their childhood. Thank you.
